Past Rumors (10/02/2000):

horace grant will more than just this season. first, he planned on retiring before last season, then, he planned on bowing out after his 5 year $50 million deal expires after this season. he has told the lakers that he plans on playing @ least 2 more full seasons. he told them as long as shaq is there too make his life easier, he'd like to play as long as robert parish did (that would be 43 years of age).

one rumour that i heard is dikembe mutombo for antonio mcdyess. what the hell is this?? both players would lose in this trade. the nuggets are a few years away from going anywhere, granted that they keep their nucleus (mcdyess and van exel) and make some smart signings and draft picks. if mutombo were to go there, he'd have to reitre before anything was done. also, there are better suitors interested in him (ie, the knicks, although they claim that no deal was ever in the work and will ever been in the works).

chris webber is giving the kings two more years after this one. he said that he'd sign a contract with the next week stating this. a clincher to keeping cwebb was the trade that sent corliss williamson to the raptors for doug christie. cwebb is a christie fan because of his defence which sacramento desperately needs.
