Rumors from the Ass

Past Rumors (08/21/2000):

well, all is quiet on the western front, except for one player. i've know heard 3 rumours that involve patrick ewing. here they are:

Rumour #1. ewing for vin 'watch my blubber bounce' baker straight up.
My Take - i think this would benefit the sonics. no doubt. they fill the center void that has been empty since they let sam perkins get away and also add some leadership that the sonics need to get to the next level. the knicks get a player that when he was with the bucks, was an all-star. can he get back to his former self? only time will tell. but i can lend an eye into the future, it won't happen.

Rumour #2. now pay attention kids, this one has a lot of players involved. this one is a 4 team deal that would send vin 'look at that blubber go!!' baker (sonics) and glen rice (lakers) to new york, christian laettner (pistons) and lavor postell (knicks), patrick ewing (knicks) to seattle, and vladimir stepania (sonics) , greg foster (sonics), vernon maxwell (sonics), ty lue (lakers), john celestand (lakers), and david wingate (knicks) in addition to several draft picks. i think that new york would win this one hands down, provided that baker gets back into his former all-star form. if not, the lakers will win this one. laettner will fill the power forward slot and postell will give them some quality minutes off the bench to fill in for kb8. i think that the pistons, although they are getting a large quantity of players, are not getting a lot of quality players. and none of the players that they are getting are starters, let alone quality ones.

Rumour #3. pat ewing to washington for juwan howard and rod strickland. this would work out cap-wise as both howard and strick are big money players, but that's it. washington needs help for the future and, let's face it, ewing is only this year and next, and maybe one more. also, new york would really dig this as they would have a real point guard for the first time in while that doesn't want to outscore his teammates (like chris childs) and a good power forward so they wouldn't be forced to play kurt thomas.
